What are Beeswax Wraps?

Beeswax food wraps are cotton, coated with food-grade beeswax along with all-natural ingredients. They are easy to shape around a variety of food including bread and avocados or even leftovers.

What are the benefits of beeswax wraps?

Beeswax wraps are the perfect way to reduce single-use items like plastic wrap in your home. They also are a great replacement for those missing container lids. What are beeswax wraps used for?

Our wraps come in a variety of sizes so you can keep all of your food fresh including covering fruits, veggies, cheese, bread, herbs, leftovers, and more! And since they are naturally self-adhesive you can even fold them into snack bags or sandwiches for lunch.

What do the beeswax wraps replace?

They replace single-use food storage products like plastic wrap, aluminum foil, and plastic bags.

How long do beeswax wraps last?

With proper care, a beeswax wrap can be used over 100 times in one year. if it does not stick as it used to, or begins to crack, don't throw them away, order a Mind Your Bees Rewax Kit to give it a refresh.

How do you activate beeswax wraps?

When you first unwrap your beeswax wrap, crumble it  2-3 times to make it malleable. Once it's activated you're good to go!

How do you get the best seal beeswax wraps around your food?

Simply fold your wraps around your food, mould them into storage containers or bowls, create snack packs, or roll into cones for fresh herbs. Use the warmth of your hands to seal it. That's it!  Then just pop it into the fridge.

Can beeswax wraps go in the fridge?

Absolutely! This is what they were meant for. Your beeswax wraps can be folded into pouches to store snacks, used to cover leftovers, or formed to wrap around your fresh herbs, produce, and more. 

Can I put beeswax wraps in the freezer?

While some sites will tell you to use them in the freezer, beeswax food wraps should avoid being frozen since the cold will make the wax coating likely to crack.

Can I use beeswax food wraps to store meat?

Although beeswax is naturally antibacterial, we don't recommend beeswax wraps for raw meat or cooked meat storage. 

What else should I never put in a beeswax wrap?

Ideally, you should avoid anything too oily to avoid staining your wraps. Instead, use a glass jar or glass container.

How do you use beeswax food bags?

Place your food in the bag, leaving some room to seal it. Fold over the beeswax bag a couple of times and use the warmth of your hand to seal. They are fantastic for keeping produce and herbs fresh. And are amazing for sandwiches and snacks on the go. Check out our video below.

How to clean beeswax food wraps?

Look no further, if you're wondering how to clean a reusable food wrap. Your beeswax wraps are easy to wash and clean:

  • Simply rinse your wrap with cool water and/or use natural mild soap when needed and air dry.
  • Store flat or loosely folded in a drawer.
  • Avoid heat.

How do you store beeswax wraps when not in use?

The best way to store your beeswax wraps, is in a bowl on the counter to encourage usage. Alternatively, you can keep them flat or rolled, and place them in a kitchen drawer where your plastic wrap used to be.
