At Mind Your Bees, quality matters, that’s why we developed our proprietary beeswax wrap blend that allows food to breathe, helping it stay fresher longer. The wraps are naturally anti-microbial and self-adhesive, meaning they won’t come unwrapped. Our products are simply a better way to make your home a little greener. Read below for answers to our most common questions.
What are beeswax wraps?
Beeswax wraps are cotton coated with food-grade beeswax along with all-natural ingredients. They are easy to shape around a variety of food including bread and avocados or even leftovers.
Are beeswax wraps antibacterial?
Like honey, beeswax has antibacterial properties which help keep things clean. This makes it a common ingredient in wraps, salves, and more.
HOW TO USE
What are beeswax wraps used for?
Our wraps come in a variety of sizes so you can keep all of your food fresh including covering fruits, veggies, cheese, bread, herbs, leftovers, and more! And since they are naturally self-adhesive you can even fold them into snack bags or sandwiches for lunch.
What do the beeswax wraps replace?
They replace single-use food storage products like plastic wrap, aluminum foil, and plastic bags.
How do you get the best seal beeswax wraps around your food?
Mind your bees wraps warm to the touch. Simply fold them around your food, mould them to storage containers or bowls, create snack packs, or roll into cones for fresh herbs.
Can I use beeswax food wraps to store meat?
Although beeswax is naturally antibacterial, we don't recommend beeswax wraps for raw meat or cooked meat storage.
How do you use beeswax food bags?
Place your food in the bag, leaving some room to seal it. Fold over the beeswax bag a couple of times and use the warmth of your hand to seal. They are fantastic for keeping produce and herbs fresh. And are amazing for sandwiches and snacks on the go. Check out our video below.
HOW TO CARE FOR
How do you clean beeswax wraps?
Rinse your wrap with cool water and/or use natural mild soap when needed and air dry. Store flat or loosely folded in a drawer. Avoid heat. Read our blog post for additional instructions on how to clean beeswax wraps.
How do you store beeswax wraps when not in use?
We recommend storing them in a bowl on the counter to encourage usage. Or you can keep them flat or rolled and placed in a kitchen drawer where your plastic wrap used to be.
How long do beeswax wraps last?
The wraps are self-adhesive, meaning they won't come unwrapped, and they can be washed and reused for over a year with proper care.
How do I dispose of them?
Mind Your Bees wraps are eco-friendly. Once they can no longer be used, you can cut them into strips to use as ties around plants, or you can use them as fire starters.
